Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 was previously rumored as Sony Ericsson Shakira. It is basically a X10 mini having 3 inch screen with a 320 x 480 pixels resolution. It runs on Android 1.6 and powered by a 600MHz processor and 1200 mAh battery. Sony ericsson Xperia X10 has mind-blowing 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash features. Comparatively on the X8, camera has been downgraded to 3MP fixed focus. Both Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 and X10 are compatible to work on both 2G and 3G networks. Both handsets come with 3.5 mm audio jack. Xperia X8 has also compromised on memory and has only 128 MB of memory in comparison to Xperia X10's 1GB internal storage. Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is loaded with myriad of data connectivity options which include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB. Bluetooth allows data to be transferred in wireless mode. Xperia X8a is equipped with 3.15MP camera having geo-tagging feature. It is also eligible to capture VGA video at 30fps. The mini form of Xperia X10 is available in Dark Blue, white, aqua blue, white, pink and silver. The handset is integrated with various audio and video players, google map, gmail, You Tube, Google Talk and facebook application.

The XPERIA X8 is aimed at the masses. The 600MHz CPU is not meant to break any speed record, but Sony Ericsson have optimized their custom interface to the point of giving you a smooth and consistent run - which at times does feel blazing fast. The bigger screen on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 makes a virtual QWERTY possible. In portrait mode, the keys are quite small, but once you turn it to landscape mode things get a lot more comfortable. The virtual keyboard is not for heavy texters perhaps but it's good enough for occasional use. With Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, the manufacturer is trying to give the majority of consumers a feature-rich package at a reasonable price.
