The Hi Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) though a late comer in the mobile phone industry, has made , particularly in the last decade or so, large inroads into the share of not only nokia phones , but those of Samsung, Blackberry, Sony Ericsson and others as well. Though the smartphones produced by HTC earlier to the advent of the HTC Desire also sold reasonably well and were very fine mobile phone handsets, it was undoubtedly the Desire smartphone handset that proved to be the turning point in the path towards success of HTC Corporation.
Not only in the UK, but elsewhere as well, htc phones are slowly but surely creating an indelible niche for themselves in the minds of mobile phone users all over. The sparkingly clear touchscreen displays, highly intuitive user interfaces, a powerful battery and invariably a very good camera device and a media player all make HTC phones what they are today.
Unlike Nokia, HTC has till now concentrated on the upmarket smartphone segment only. Though of late they are expanding to other segments as well. Sales wise, HTC phones are believed currently to be leaving behind all including Nokia phones, and even the Apple iPhones as most users seem contend using some of the more low priced HTC smartphones in preference to the exorbitantly priced Apple iPhones.
It may be a passing phase, but as things stand today, HTC phones do hold that slight but important edge over the Nokia phones.
